Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

1. Does Girin Wallet store any of Users wallet information (e.g., private key)

No. Girin Wallet is a self-custody wallet, meaning users have full control and ownership over their wallets. We do not store your private key, mnemonic phrase, or any other sensitive wallet information.

2. Can I recover my wallet if I lose access to it?

Yes, if you have your seed phrase (which functions the same as a private key or mnemonic), you can recover your wallet. However, if the seed phrase is lost, Girin Wallet cannot assist in the recovery process, as we do not have access to your wallet under any circumstance.

3. Why does Girin Wallet require 1 $XRP to activate a wallet?

To activate a new wallet address on the XRP Ledger, the network requires a base reserve of 1 XRP to be locked. This $XRP remains under users ownership. It is not collected or controlled by Girin Wallet.

4. How can I add tokens other than $XRP on the XRP Ledger?

To use tokens other than $XRP on the XRP Ledger, you must first activate a Trust Line with the issuer of that token. This is required by the network to authorize the holding of non-XRP assets.

  • [Balances by network] → [XRP Ledger] → [Manage Tokens] → [Add Token] → Enter the [Issuer Address], [Token Ticker] → Owner reserve(0.2 $XRP) [Lock-up] → [Confirm]

5. What should I do if I can no longer use Girin Wallet?

As the wallet owner, you can import your seed phrase into any wallet that supports the XRP Ledger mainnet and continue managing your assets.
